CARTAGEN

The city of Cartagena, referred to in the frontier time as Cartagena de Indias, is a significant port established in 1533, on the northern shore of Colombia in the Caribbean Coast Region. It was deliberately situated between the Magdalena and Sinú streams and turned into the principal port for exchange among Spain and its abroad realm, building up its significance by the mid-1540s.
